3 PH beaches make it to CNN’s list of world’s best
REPOST FROM :http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/417695/3-ph-beaches-make-it-to-cnns-list-of-worlds-best
Philippine Daily Inquirer

MANILA—The giant news organization CNN has included three Philippine beaches on its list of the best 100 beaches in the world.
The issuance of the list coincided with an announcent by the government that tourist arrivals in the country increased by 10 percent in the first four months of 2013.
The Atlanta-based cable news channel said Puka Beach in Boracay, El Nido in Palawan, and Palaui Island in Cagayan were among the best destinations for beach bums around the globe. It listed Palaui on No. 10, the only Southeast Asian beach in the Top 10.
“Glorious white sands meet volcanic rocks and blue-green waters topside, while coral gardens and a rich marine reserve meet divers under the surface. Palaui is all about raw beauty,” CNN said of the island off the northeastern tip of Luzon.
“Treks to get there require battling thorny grass, muddy ground and a mangrove forest…. With no resorts or hotels, Palaui has only two real options: camping under the stars or home stays,” it added.
El Nido, which supposedly inspired author Alex Garland to write the novel “The Beach,” landed on No. 14, or five notches above Maya Bay in Ko Phi Phi, Thailand, where the novel’s movie adaptation starring Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed.
“El Nido is the gateway to adventure, ‘the last frontier’ of the Philippines, as it has been dubbed,” CNN said.
“Powder-fine beaches and gin-clear waters complement the stunning views of karst limestone formations, empty lagoons, marble cliffs, prehistoric caves and waterfalls,” it added.
CNN also noted that El Nido surrounding waters contain more than 50 species of coral and attract whales, whale sharks, sea cows, manta rays, dolphins and endangered turtles.
And while it has received flak recently for being overcrowded and for being a disappointment for some travel writers, Boracay island, particularly Puka Beach, still made it to No. 84.
“Making a respectable claim to its ‘tropical paradise’ reputation, Boracay has powdery beaches, water sports and spas. Puka Beach is named for its Puka shells, meaning the sand here is coarse,” CNN said.
“Puka is the second-longest beach on Boracay and relatively empty most times, with no resorts and a limited number of restaurants,” it added.
International publications like Travel+Leisure Magazine and the New York Times earlier named the Philippines among the hottest tourism destinations for 2013.
On Thursday, the Department of Tourism ) said foreign visitor arrivals during the first four months of 2013 reached 1,649,458 million, or a 10.12 percent increase from the same period in 2012.
“The first four months represent 30 percent of the target arrivals for 2013, with the month of January yielding the largest volume of 436,079 visitors and February generating the highest growth of 15.52 percent,” the DOT said.
For the first four months of the year, South Korea contributed the largest arrivals with 406,595 visitors, keeping its undisputed pole position with the biggest market share of 24.65 percent of total inbound traffic and a double-digit growth of 23.08 percent.
The DOT said the United States came in as the second biggest source market with 246,011 visitors or a share of 14.91 percent.
“Japan is third with 148,950 or 9.03 percent of the overall visitor volume. China has kept its position as the fourth biggest market with 132,307 or an 8.02 percent share. Australia is fifth with 72,015 arrivals, constituting 4.37 percent of the total visitor count,” the DOT said.
Arrivals from Taiwan declined by 8.3 percent with 68,654 visitors and this was before public anger in Taiwan over the killing of a Taiwanese fisherman by members of the Philippine Coast Guard.
The other top tourism markets for the Philippines were Singapore with 55,096 (15.90 percent); Canada with 50,352 (4.25 percent); Hong Kong with 45,734 (12.87 percent); United Kingdom with 43,055 (3.10 percent); Malaysia with 35,069 (8.36 percent); and Germany with 28,799 (9.16 percent).
Other markets that registered double-digit gains included Russia (30.33 percent), India (23.13 percent), and France (20.10 percent).
“This growth is an affirmation of our various marketing and destination development activities, strengthened by partnerships with the various stakeholders. While the upsurge may primarily be attributed to the summer season, it is also a clear indication that the nation has galvanized its reputation as an attractive destination,” said Tourism Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez, Jr.
“We have been seeing a sustainable increase in arrivals since last year. This building enthusiasm for the Philippines, aided by our government’s good governance agenda, gives us the confidence to achieve our target of 10 million tourist arrivals by 2016,” he added.

UPDATE: Jessica Soho on Vice Ganda's apology: I hope his intentions are pure
REPOST FROM GMA NEWS WEBSITE http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/310565/lifestyle/people/jessica-soho-on-vice-ganda-s-apology-i-hope-his-intentions-are-pure
In response to the public apology made by comedian Vice Ganda on Wednesday regarding the "gang rape" joke he made at her expense, GMA News anchor Jessica Soho issued the following statement:
"I acknowledge the public apology given by Vice Ganda, by way of his TV program.
I sincerely hope and pray that this was done with the purest intentions and determination to put this issue behind us.
Just to clarify certain points about my phone conversation with him – his call came without warning as his number was not programmed in my phone directory. I told him I wasn't feeling well and I wasn't sure I was ready to talk to him. But I clearly remember thanking him for his call.
As I've said, this is not about me, but about the issue of rape not being an appropriate subject matter for comedy. Rape transcends age, economic class, gender -- and even one's weight.
Once again, I thank everyone who gave their support."

Vice Ganda says sorry to Jessica Soho
Comedian Vice Ganda on Wednesday publicly apologized to broadcast journalist Jessica Soho on the noontime show "It's Showtime" over a sketch in his recent concert.
"Lahat
natin 'to.
Sabi ko 'Good
Is it okay po if I will call you later, tomorrow or some other day?'
Sabi niya 'I don't think so."
"Ako po ay tao, mukha lang akong
kabayo.

Via Danierose Marciano's facebook account

No apologies? Vice Ganda posts photo of himself with dirty finger in his mouth
By MJ Marfori, News5 · Wednesday, May 29, 2013 · 11:50 am
He sort of broke his silence on the issue with this greeting to his Twitter followers on Wednesday morning:
The gay comedian then posted a black and white photo of himself on Instagram. The photo has him wearing a blonde wig and a bemused expression on his face. Most significantly, he appears to be biting on his middle finger. His caption reads, “Sssshhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!”
Whether the picture means to convey defiance or regret is not clear. The photo had earned over 20,000 likes as this story was posted.
Vice also tweeted his appreciation for one blogger “not for defending but for understanding”.
UPDATE: Jessica Soho made a reaction to Vice Ganda
After Arnold Clavio hits the comedian Vice Ganda on his radio program at DZBB this Tuesday, here now Jessica Soho reacted on Vice Ganda's joke. What would be ABS-CBN's action about their talent who made a not so good joke to a respected personality like Ms. Soho, and will Vice faced a Libel case soon?
Here's an article from GMA news early this afternoon
http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/310398/lifestyle/people/jessica-soho-to-vice-ganda-rape-is-not-a-joke
GMA News anchor Jessica Soho has reacted to a joke made by comedian Vice Ganda about the popular media personality and an imagined rape scenario, which has earned criticism from many sectors.
In his concert last May 18, Vice Ganda joked that if Soho were a bold star in a movie, the scene would have to involve a "gang rape." The comedian made fun of Soho's physique for a full two minutes before moving on to other celebrities.
In a statement sent to GMA News Online on Tuesday, Soho said: "Rape is not a joke and should never be material for a comedy concert."
She added: "I thank all those who shared my hurt and expressed their support, but this should not be about me but about rape victims who suffer tremendously from this terrible crime. The horrors they go through are unspeakable and should never be taken lightly, especially by way of a cruel joke." – YA, GMA News

Charice on coming out the closet
http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/310384/showbiz/charice-on-coming-out-i-have-come-to-accept-the-real-me-i-have-come-to-love-the-real-me
Ang artikulo ay pamagat na "You're the man, Charice!"
Tanong ni Bum kay Charice: "Where is this feeling of freedom coming from, hija?”
Tugon naman ng singer, “I’m able to express myself better now. I have come to accept the real me. I have come to love the real me. I now celebrate the real me."
Tanong ni Bum: “Even if you have earned a sizeable amount of bashers?”
Sabi pa ni Charice, "Even if I don’t work for 10 or more years, I know we will still eat. But why will I do that?
"The only thing that is changed in me is my look, my perspective. My voice remains the same.”
Sabi ni Charice, "Oprah just told me to keep my cool and not be affected.
"I assured her, ‘Yes, Oprah, I can handle them. My spirit is made of titanium. I will not break.'”
Aniya, “But I’m thankful to my bashers, too. They make me so much stronger.
"I love them. I offer them peace.
"And I will forever be grateful to those who have loved me since Day One.”
"She was one of those who told me I don’t owe anybody any explanation.” -- Arniel C. Serato, PEP

Reasons to drink Lemon Water
Smoothies can be packed with protein; pre-workout energizers, hydrators, and post-workout recovery accelerators can deliver performance-enhancing nutrients; herbal teas can soothe or energize — all of these beverages have a functional purpose to meet specific wellness needs. And then there’s a less obvious, simple, blender-free drink that serves a mighty wellness-enhancing purpose. Providing more than just hydration, fresh lemon juice and water can deliver surprising benefits.
Starting every morning with a glass of warm lemon water is actually a ritual in Ayurveda or Yogic traditions, used to stimulate digestion for the day and clear the body of any toxins that may have settled in the digestive tract overnight. While it is tricky to apply the strict burden of evidence expected by Western science to traditional practices (often called “folk medicine”) that originated long before modern medical science standards were developed, research on the nutritional elements found in lemons suggests the numerous health benefits traditionally associated with drinking fresh lemon water daily may have merit.
We tend to reach for those warm beverages in the morning like coffee and tea, but try starting your day with some warm lemon water first to kick-start digestion. The water doesn’t always have to be warm, but it should be purified. Simply use half a fresh lemon per large glass of water or to taste and sip throughout the day. On a simple level, fresh lemons take plain old water up a notch. Here are 5 health benefits of drinking lemon water that elevate drinking it for reasons beyond just taste:
- Support immune function: Lemons are high in antioxidant vitamin C, known for its supportive role in healthy immune function1,2 which may reduce the risk of respiratory infection3. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) found in lemons demonstrates anti-inflammatory effects, and is used as complementary support for asthma and other respiratory symptoms4,5. Lemons also contain saponins6, which show antimicrobial properties that may help keep cold and flu at bay. Last but not least, ascorbic acid enhances iron absorption in the body; iron plays an important role in immune function7.
- Alkalize the body: Although the tartness of a lemon may make them seem acidic, lemons are actually one of the most alkalizing foods for the body. Lemons contain both citric and ascorbic acid, weak acids easily metabolized from the body allowing the mineral content of lemons to help alkalize the blood.
- Aid digestion: Citrus flavonols8 are believed responsible for lemon’s traditional use as a digestive tonic. Believed to stimulate and purify the liver, lemon juice is traditionally understood to support digestive hydrochloric acid in the stomach further aiding digestion. Vitamin C status has been associated with reduced risk of peptic ulcers caused by the bacteria Helicobacter pylori9.
- Clear skin: Vitamin C and other antioxidants in lemons combat free radical damage. Free radical damage — especially as caused by UV exposure and environmental toxins — is responsible for many symptoms of aging. Antioxidant intake can help offset this damage, minimizing wrinkles. Further, lemon juice can be applied topically to scars and age spots to help reduce their appearance. Traditionally used as a liver stimulant, lemon water is also believed to help purge toxins from the blood, helping to keep skin clear of blemishes.
- Promote healing: Ascorbic acid (vitamin C), found in abundance in lemons, promotes wound healing, and is an essential nutrient in the maintenance of healthy bones, connective tissue, and cartilage10. As noted previously, vitamin C also displays anti-inflammatory properties. Combined, vitamin C is an essential nutrient in the maintenance of good health and recovery from stress and injury.

TV host Vice Ganda explains on "It's Showtime" why he was absent for several days. |
After their opening number, Vice Ganda took the stage to personally apologize to the ABS-CBN executives for not informing them when he went on leave for several days.
Amid all the success and recognition that he has been receiving, Vice Ganda admitted he recently suffered from a severe depression because he realized that he had no one to share his achievements with.
So natulog ako. Iyak lang ako ng iyak,” she said.
Vice Ganda said it was then when he realized that he has neglected his family while he was working too hard.
That same day, Vice Ganda said he rushed to their province in La Union to fetch his grandfather, who has been waiting for him since March.
March 31 iyon. Anong date na? May 18 na nung na-realize ko na hindi ko pala nagawa yung pinangako ko sa lolo ko,” he said.
Vice Ganda said it tore him to pieces when he saw a packed bag as his grandafather was just waiting for his arrival.
Having realized the real value of being with his own family, Vice Ganda said: “Kaya bakit ho ako nawala? I missed ‘Showtime,’ the madlang people but I cannot miss the chance para mapuntahan ko ulit ang pamilya ko.”
Now that he feels “complete” again, Vice Ganda thinks it will now be easier for him to bring joy to other people’s lives.
Ngayon I can really say I am successful. Kaya excited akong pumasok sa ‘Showtime’ kasi feeling ko mas magaling ako ngayon, mas buo na ang puso ko, mas totoo na yung pagpapasaya ko,” he said.

No Jones Cup for Gilas: Taiwan organizers withdraw invitation for Philippine team
InterAKTV · Monday, May 27, 2013 · 7:28 pm
Philippine national men’s basketball coach Chot Reyes made the announcement on his Twitter account. Chot Reyes @coachot
"Just got word from d organizers that we have been un-invited to d Jones Cup. Di matapos-tapos ang problema ng Gilas ha."
The Philippines won the competition last year on the strength of the performance of Barangay Ginebra San Miguel guard LA Tenorio, who won Most Valuable Player honors. Tensions between Taiwan and the Philippines rose after the fatal shooting of a Taiwanese fisherman by members of the Philippine Coast Guard earlier this month.
Several incidents of attacks on Filipino workers by Taiwanese locals have been reported.
Gilas members expressed disappointment over the decision of Jones Cup organizers.
Reyes, for his part, said that the development is a setback in the preparations of the national team, which is training to compete in the FIBA Asia Championship in Manila in August.
Arnold Clavio's reaction to Vice Ganda's Soho spoof
Arnold Clavio, GMA reporters slam Vice Ganda for vulgar jokes about Jessica Soho, rape
Arnold Clavio has had enough of Vice Ganda.
The GMA anchor lashed out against the ABS-CBN comedian for allegedly
making a vulgar joke against fellow GMA anchor and GMA vice president
for News and Public Affairs Jessica Soho during his recent concert at
the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Jessica Soho,” Arnold said Tuesday on his daily morning radio show on
DZBB with Lala Roque.
He chided Vice Ganda: “Bakit mo
Huwag mo silang
kasangkapanin para lang makapagpagpatawa. Bakit hindi taga-diyan sa inyo
ang gawin mong subject ng jokes mo? Baki hindi taga-ABS?”
Arnold announced that Philippine Star associate editor Marichu
Villanueva texted him to say she had also tweeted about the gay
comedian’s vulgarity.
Arnold reminded co-host Lala Roque that
he had refrained from attacking Vice even despite the flurry of
complaints about his alleged arrogance, increasing vulgarity, and his
“bullying” of innocent people. “Hindi ba bullying ang ginawa niya kay
Jessica Soho?” he wondered.
He stressed that Ang Ladlad party
list’s most prominent face, professor Dante Remoto, knows that he
[Clavio] is not homophobic and even defends gays against discrimination
and bullying. But when the bullying is done by them he wants to make a
stand.
On Twitter, GMA reporters and other netizens also cried foul over a rape joke that Vice made during his concert.

Now that you have decided to get into the food cart franchise business, one of the biggest things that you need to know is the person or the company that you are dealing with. In choosing a franchising company, doing a background check is very important so that you know that you are making the right investment on the right people and the right products. Nowadays, people are getting into the business of franchising, and for all you know, there may be a lot of franchising scams out there. Thus, exploring the company’s background and history will surely benefit you and keep you out of trouble.
To make things easier for you, here is one franchise company that has a good reputation in the world of business franchises. Filtrepreneur Franchise Inc. (FFI) has been established as a franchisor for Filipino entrepreneurs with the main goal of promoting job creation and entrepreneurship in the Philippines.
It was formally established in 2006, but its humble beginnings could be traced back from way back 1992, with the simple Red Cricket Vending Concepts Inc. This factory, originally located in Quezon City, supplied the common snack foods such as siomai, siopao, kikiam, and fishballs to the market. It was in 1996 that Red Cricket entered the food cart business, creating their own brand of food carts for their products. Examples of these food cart businesses that they started include My Pao, which sells dimsum dishes like siomai and siopao; and Jack’s Eatabols, which sells kikiam and fishballs. At that time, these food carts were not yet open for franchise, but because of the huge number of inquiries that they received, Red Cricket opened these food carts for franchise in the year 2000.
With the growing number of franchisees that Red Cricket was able to secure, they decided to rename the company with Filtrepreneur Franchise Inc. in 2006. FFI is committed to giving high quality food products to their growing number of loyal consumers, and since 2006, the number of products that they are selling has increased. From two food carts, they now have more than 10 food carts available for franchise, ranging from siomais to pizzas and shawarmas. Truly, they have come a long way from the fishball selling in the past.
What makes them the perfect choice for your franchise business is that they can give you the lowest franchise package for less than P25,000. They also have all-in food cart packages, such as 2-in-1 or even 3-in-1 food cart packages, for those people who want to get the most out of their franchise. You will definitely be in good hands when you decide to get a franchise from Filtrepreneur.

TAIWAN VS. PHILIPPINES, saan nga ba patungo?
ISSUE: RELASYON NG PILIPINAS AT TAIWAN
NOON:

MY HUSBAND'S LOVER is it SPG or PG?
As far as television viewers is concern, will you allow your child watching this kind of show?.
Starring Dennis Trillo, Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana, a prime time offering of GMA 7 to be aired this coming June is a gay-themed soap opera. A married man having an affair and having a guy lover..
Although this set-up is now a new issue for bisexuality here in the Philippines but do the Filipino audiences is now accepting this kind of trending show? What would be its implications and religious sect reaction about this manner?

Another thing is what would be MTRCB's sanction about this very sensitve show? would it be SPG? or just PG? but to be shown on late night, but compare to ABS_CBN's Apoy Sa Dagat its not just sexually themed story but SPG due to fight scene and "karahasan" that shown on that soap opera...
Lets wait, watch and see what would it be when time comes it shown.

My vote is not for SALE
(Photo from google images)
Its election day! At exactly 7:00 am, election precincts headed by our dedicated school teachers on duty is now signing in. Please be wise on choosing the right person to vote.
Vote buying is not a anew here in Marinduque, midnight before election, roving coordinators now dispatching to the baranggay coordinators on how much will it cost. As based on sources from town of Santa Cruz, the 1st class Municipality of Marinduque says that voting straight from the party worth 1000.00, as a facebook status of some friends who are againts with another candidate says 2000.00 for the coordinator and 1500 for the baranggay coordinator. How much will it be in the hand of the voter? 500.00?..
Same situation in town of Mogpog where a Board Member candidate posted on her facebook account that another Board Member candidate buy votes worth 40.00 despite that this is not his 1st term. According to the lady candidate, she was upset after knowing that this male candidate buy votes in his place? C'mon!
For the last words, before you go out in your houses, think 101 times on who to vote, go to church and pray for a proper guidance and be a positive one that what you choose is the who deserves to run the Province of Marinduque.
Goodluck Kababayans for this new challenge. We are all hoping for a safe a fruitful 2013 election.
